Compressor/Condenser Hose Replacement - Auxiliary (RPO C69)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the M.A.F and the I.A.T.
3. Remove the air cleaner.
4. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
5. Remove the grille.
6. Remove the engine cover.
7. Raise vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in Vehicle Lifting.
8. Disconnect the auxiliary evaporator lines nut from the compressor and condenser hose.
9. Lower vehicle.




10. Remove the nut that attaches the compressor and condenser hose bracket to the engine.




11. Remove the hose clamp bracket nut (3) from the engine stud.




12. Remove the compressor and condenser hose bolt from the compressor.
13. Remove the old sealing washers from the compressor it still attached.




14. Remove the compressor and condenser hose nut (6) from the condenser.
15. Remove the compressor and condenser hose nut (1) from the accumulator.
16. Remove the compressor and condenser hose from the vehicle.
17. Cap or plug all open connections.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Uncap or plug all open connections.
2. Install the compressor and condenser hose to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the compressor and condenser hose nut (1) to the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor and condenser hose nut (1) to the accumulator to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

4. Install the compressor and condenser hose nut (6) to the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor and condenser hose nut to the condenser to 27.5 N.m (26 lb ft).




5. Install new seal washers to the Compressor.
6. Install the compressor and condenser hose bolt to the compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor and condenser hose bolt to the compressor to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).




7. Install the hose clamp bracket nut (3) to the engine stud.

Tighten
Tighten the hose clamp bracket nut (3) to the engine stud to 5 N.m (44 lb in).




8. Remove the nut that attaches the compressor and condenser hose bracket to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the nut that attaches the compressor and condenser hose bracket to the engine to 27 N.m (26 lb in).




9. Raise vehicle.
10. Connect the auxiliary evaporator line nut to the compressor and condenser hose.

Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary evaporator line nut to the compressor and condenser hose to 27.5 N.m (26 lb ft).

11. Lower vehicle.
12. Install the engine cover.
13. Install the grille.
14. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
15. Ensure that no leaks exist in the system. Refer to Leak Testing. Leak Testing
16. Install the air cleaner.
17. Connect the M.A.F and the I.A.T.
18. Close hood.
