Radiator Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper.
3. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Lower.
4. Disconnect the radiator hoses from the radiator.
5. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Oil Cooler Line Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.
6. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement.





7. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator filler neck.
8. Remove the radiator grille.





9. Remove the four bolts attaching the A/C condenser to the radiator. Refer to Condenser Replacement in Heating and Air Conditioning.
10. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator.
2. Install the four bolts attaching the A/C condenser to the radiator. Refer to Condenser Replacement in Heating and Air Conditioning.
3. Install the radiator grille.





4. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the radiator filler neck.
5. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the connector fittings. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement.
6. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines into the connector fittings. Refer to Oil Cooler Line Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.





7. Connect the radiator inlet hose and the outlet hose to the radiator.
8. Install the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Lower.
9. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper.
10. Refill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
11. Check engine oil fluid level. Fill to proper level.
12. Start the engine. Run vehicle to normal operating temperature. Check transmission oil fluid level. Fill to proper level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure in Transmission and Drivetrain.
13. Inspect the cooling system for leaks.
14. Check for oil and transmission fluid leaks.
