Hood Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
1. Raise the hood.
2. Support the hood at the front and the rear.
3. Place protective coverings over the cowl and the fenders.
4. Remove the bolt (5) holding the hinge to the link assembly (6).
5. Lower the hood and support the hood.
6. Remove the outboard components of the cowl vent grille.
7. Remove the pivot bolt (7).
8. Remove the hood from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the hood to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the pivot bolts.
Tighten the hood to fender pivot bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Install the outboard section of the cowl vent grille.
4. Raise the hood.
5. Install the bolt (5) holding the hinge to the link assembly.
Tighten the link assembly bolts (5, 8) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
6. Lower the hood.
