Front Fender Replacement (Right)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.




2. Remove the hood link assembly from the fender.
3. Remove the outboard cowl grille from the vehicle.
4. Remove the hood.
5. Remove the radio antenna.
6. Remove the wiring inside the fender.
7. Remove the air cleaner hose from the fender (7) in the engine compartment.
8. Remove the battery and the battery tray.
9. Remove the forward air inlet duct assembly from the fender.
10. Remove the wiring from the clips.




11. Remove the bolts (5) holding the fender to the wheelhouse.




12. Remove the bolt (6) holding the fender to the rocker assembly.
13. Open the door.
14. Remove the bolts holding the fender to the door hinges.
15. Remove the bolt holding the fender to the radiator support (9).
16. Remove the fender from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the fender to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolts holding the fender to the radiator support (6).

Tighten the fender bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the bolts and nuts holding the fender to the door hinges.

Tighten the fender to the door hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





4. Install the bolt (6) and the nut from the fender to the rocker assembly.

Tighten the fender to the rocker bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





5. Install the bolts (6) through the wheelhouse (3) to the fender (4).
6. Install the forward air inlet duct assembly to the front section of the fender in the engine compartment.
7. Install the battery tray and the battery.

Tighten the tray bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the air cleaner to the fender.
9. Install the wiring inside the fender.
10. Install the radio antenna into the fender.
11. Install the wiring into the clips.
12. Install the hood link assembly.
13. Install the hood hinge to the hood.

Tighten the hinge to the hood bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





14. Install the outboard cowl grille (1) to the vehicle.
15. Install the hood to the vehicle.
16. Inspect the fender for proper clearance.
17. Connect the battery negative cable.
