OnStar (R) Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU) Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the IP trim pad.
2. Remove the 2 screws (1) securing the VIU to the bracket.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
4. Remove the VIU from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the VIU to the bracket.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the screws (1) securing the VIU to the bracket.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Install the IP trim pad.
5. Contact the OnStar(R) Dealer Support line to configure the system.
