Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Assemble - Export


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Attach the steering column support assembly (2) to the steering column jacket assembly (3) with 4 TORX head screws (1).
- Tighten the 4 TORX screws to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the steering shaft assembly (1) into the steering column support assembly (2).





3. Install the adapter and bearing assembly (1) onto the steering column jacket assembly.





4. Install the linear shift assembly onto the steering column support assembly.
5. Secure the linear shift assembly to the steering column support assembly with 3 flat head tapping screws. Move the linear shift assembly out of the PARK position to install the lower socket tapping screw.
- Tighten the 3 flat head tapping screws to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





Important: Be sure that the electrical contact of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly rests on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.

6. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column housing assembly.
7. Screw the 2 pan head tapping screws into the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
- Tighten the 2 pan head tapping screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
8. Install the electronic lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle.
