Dimmer Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required

J 41352 Steering Column Holding Fixture




1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement Steering Column Replacement.
2. Set the steering column and J 41352 into a vise.
Important: Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position.


Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position and remove the key.
3. Check the steering column jacket assembly for accident damage. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection - Off Vehicle Tilt.




4. Remove the hexagon nut (2).
5. Remove the washer head screw (4).
6. Remove the dimmer switch assembly (3) from the dimmer and ignition switch mounting stud (1).
