Allison(R) transmission identification plates are located on the rear left side of the housing, just above the oil pan.

3 - 0 - Indicates Close Ratio 5 - Indicates Wide Ratio
4 - 6 or 7 - Indicates Number of Speed Ranges
5 - Indicates Major Revision
6 - Indicates Power Take Off
7 - T - Indicates Transfer Case R - Indicates Retarder

Eaton(R) transmission identification plates are located on the right rear side of the housing, near the top cover.
