Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the engine oil to drain completely.
3. Clean the oil pan drain plug surface.
4. Remove the oil filter (2) from the engine block and allow the engine oil to drain completely.
5. Clean the oil filter mounting surface.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a new oil filter (2) to the engine block. Tighten the oil filter per the oil filter manufacturers instruction printed on the oil filter box.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Install the oil pan drain plug.

Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 28 Nm (21 lb ft).

3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
4. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations [1][2]Fluid Type Specifications.
