Transmission Oil Changing

Removal Procedure

1. Clean the area around the drain and fill plugs.
2. Remove the oil fill plug from the transmission case.
3. Remove the oil drain plug from the transmission case.
4. Position a container under the oil drain hole in order to catch the transmission oil.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the oil drain plug to the transmission case.

1. Tighten the Eaton(R) FS Transmission oil drain plug to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).
2. Tighten the Eaton(R) RT Transmission oil drain plug to 68 Nm (50 lb ft).
3. Tighten the Spicer(R) ES Transmission oil drain plug to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).

2. Fill the transmission with oil to the level of the oil fill plug hole. Refer to Lubrication Specifications [1][2]Fluid Type Specifications.
3. Install the oil fill plug to the transmission case.
