Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

BARO

The scan tool displays a range of 10-105 kPa and 0.00-5.00 volts. The barometric pressure (BARO) reading is determined from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor signal. The PCM monitors the MAP signal during key up or wide-open throttle (WOT) conditions. The BARO compensates for altitude differences.
