Engine Coolant

Engine coolant flows through the main inlet heater hose and through the bypass valve, if equipped, to the auxiliary inlet heater hose at the rear of the vehicle, in a pressurized state. The auxiliary heater core is located inside the rear heater and A/C module. The heat of the coolant flowing through the heater core is absorbed by the ambient air drawn through the heater module. Heated air is distributed to the rear passenger compartment, through the heater module, for additional passenger compartment heating. The amount of heat delivered is controlled by opening or closing the heater module temperature doors and the blower fan speed. The coolant exits the heater core through the heater hose outlet, flows back to the main outlet heater hose and recirculated back through the engine cooling system.
