Front Seat Recliner Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the recliner handle.
2. Remove the recliner cover.
3. Remove the seat cushion cover to expose the recliner assembly mounting bolts.
4. Remove the seat back cover to expose the recliner assembly mounting bolts.
5. Remove the seat back release cable from the recliner assembly.




6. Remove the seat adjuster cable (3) from the seat adjuster.
7. Remove the cable end from the seat adjuster (2) by removing the ball (1) through the round opening.




8. Remove the recliner assembly bolts (1) securing the recliner to the seat cushion frame.




9. Remove the recliner assembly bolts (1) securing the recliner to the seat back frame.
10. Remove the recliner assembly from the seat.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the recliner assembly to the seat.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the 2 recliner assembly bolts (1) securing the recliner to the seat back frame.

Tighten the recliner assembly bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




3. Install the 2 recliner assembly bolts (1) securing the recliner to the seat cushion frame.

Tighten the recliner assembly bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




4. Install the cable end to the seat adjuster (2) by inserting the ball (1) through the round opening.
5. Install the seat adjuster cable (3) to the seat adjuster.
6. Install the seat back release cable to the recliner assembly.
7. Install the seat back cover.
8. Install the seat cushion cover.
9. Install the recliner trim cover to the seat.
10. Install the recliner handle.
