Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle

Removal Procedure





1. Pull the shift lever seal away from the upper steering column trim cover.
2. Remove the screw (2) that retains the shift lever to the steering column.
3. Remove the shift lever (1) from the steering column.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the shift lever (1) to the steering column.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the screw (2) that retains the shift lever to the steering column.
Tighten
Tighten the shift lever retaining screw to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the shift lever seal to the upper steering column trim cover.
