Flexible Fuel Sensor: Service and Repair
FUEL COMPOSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
3. Raise the vehicle.
4. Remove the fuel composition sensor fuel composition sensor (FCS) attachment nut (1).
5. Remove the 1 FCS attachment bolt. (5)
6. Remove the FCS from the frame rail (3).
7. Disconnect the FCS inlet and cutlet pipes from the FCS. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) (6).
8. Disconnect the FCS electrical connector. (4).
9. Remove the FCS from the bracket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the FCS to the bracket.
2. Connect the FCS inlet and outlet pipes (6) to the FCS (1).
3. Connect the FCS electrical connector (4).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the attaching nut (1).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N.m (12.5 lb ft).
5. Install the 1 FCS attachment bolt. (5)
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 17 N.m (12.5 lb ft).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
