Drum Brake Hardware Inspection





1. Visually inspect the drum brake system return springs for the following:
- Excessive corrosion
- Damaged or bent locating pins
- Broken spring coils
- Damaged retaining cups





2. Visually inspect the hold-down springs for the following:
- Excessive corrosion
- Excessive stretching
- Broken hook ends
- Twisting or binding
3. If any of the conditions listed were found, the drum brake system hardware requires replacement.
