Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair
Stabilizer Shaft ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Remove the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement.
4. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket mounting bolts.
5. Remove the stabilizer shaft brackets.
6. Remove the stabilizer shaft.
7. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators from the stabilizer shaft.
8. Inspect all of the parts for wear and damage.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulators on the stabilizer shaft. Position the slit on the insulator toward the front of the vehicle.
2. Install the stabilizer shaft.
3. Install the stabilizer shaft brackets over the stabilizer shaft insulators.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket mounting bolts.
- Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket mounting bolts to 36 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement.
6. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
7. Lower the vehicle.
