Swing Out Window Replacement

Tools Required

J 34946 Window Pin Remover

Removal Procedure

Caution: If a window is cracked but still intact, crisscross the window with masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.

Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

1. Remove the swing out window latch screws.




2. Remove the swing out window hinge screws.
3. Remove the retainers.
4. Remove the bushings.
5. Remove the nuts.
6. Remove the swing out window from the opening with the aid of an assistant.




7. UseJ 34946 or equivalent in order to remove the pins.




8. Remove the swing out window latches from the window.
9. Remove the screws from the bearings.
10. Remove the bearings from the window.
11. Remove the nuts from the window.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the bearings to the window.
2. Install the bushings to the window.
3. Install the nuts to the window.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the screws to the bearing.

Tighten the screws to the bearing to 2 Nm (27 lb.in.).




5. Install the latches to the window.




6. Use J 34946 in order to install the pins.
7. Install the window to the opening with the aid of an assistant.
8. Install the hinge nuts to the stationary window.
9. Install the bushings to the stationary window.
10. Install the retainers to the stationary window.




11. Install the hinge screws to the stationary window.

Tighten the stationary window hinge screws to 1.6 Nm (1.4 lb.in.).

12. Install the stationary window latch screws.

Tighten the stationary window latch screws to 3.5 Nm (1.6 lb.in.).
