Blower Motor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Vehicles equipped with the LB7 diesel, cut the blower motor sound insulator to gain access to the blower motor.




1. Remove the coolant recovery tank or the surge tank.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor.
3. Remove the retaining screws (4) from the blower motor.
4. Remove the blower motor (3) from the case (1).
5. Remove the retaining clip from the fan cage.
6. Remove the fan cage (2) from the blower motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the fan cage (2) to the blower motor (3).
2. Install the retaining clip to the fan cage.
3. Install the blower motor to the case (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. install the retaining screws (4) to the blower motor.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Connect the electrical connectors to the blower motor.
6. Secure the blower motor insulator, if equipped with a LB7 diesel.
7. Install the coolant recovery tank or the surge tank.
