Low Pressure Lock-Off (LPL) Solenoid Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
^ Refer to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Flammability Caution in Service Precautions
^ Refer to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fuel Pressure Relief Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Relieve the CNG fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Remove the low pressure regulator. Refer to Low Pressure Regulator (LPR) Replacement.
3. Remove the LPL mounting bolts (4,5).
4. Remove the LPL bracket (3).
5. Unscrew the LPL outlet elbow fitting (3) and the LPL (2) as an assembly from the LPR (1).
6. Remove the LPL outlet elbow fitting (3).
7. Remove the LPL inlet fitting (5).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Apply thread sealer containing Teflon� to the LPL inlet and outlet fittings. Do not use Teflon� tape.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the LPL inlet fitting (5).
Tighten
Tighten the fitting finger-tight plus one to three turns.
2. Install the LPL outlet elbow fitting (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fitting finger-tight plus one to three turns.
3. Install the bracket (3) and mounting bolts (4,5).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
4. Install the low pressure regulator.
5. Start the engine and use the J 41416 in order to inspect for leaks at each serviced fitting.
