A Symptoms
IMPORTANT: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.1. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true: Diagnostic System Check
^ There are no DTCs set.
^ The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
2. Review the system operations in the following list in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions:
^ Radio/Audio System Description and Operation
^ Video Entertainment System Description and Operation
Visual/physical Inspection
^ Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the Radio/Audio System. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Diagrams.
^ Inspect for easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
Intermittent
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections in Diagrams.

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:
^ Radio Poor Reception
^ Audio Too Loud at Low Settings
^ Radio Displays LOC, LOCKED, or CODE
^ Radio Displays CLN or CLEAN
^ Radio Displays CAL ERR
^ Radio Display Inoperative, No Sound from Speakers
^ Tape Player Weak, Slow, or Garbled Output
^ Reduced Volume - One or More Speakers
^ Speakers Inoperative - One or More
^ Video Entertainment System Inoperative
^ Video Cassette Player (VCP) Inoperative
^ Rear Speakers Do Not Mute with Video Entertainment System On
^ Video Audio Inoperative
^ Video Entertainment System Wireless Headphone Malfunction
^ Video Entertainment System Reduced Volume - One or More Speakers
^ Radio Audio Inoperative at RSA Control
^ Video Display is Poor or Blank but Backlighting is On (Rear Display) or Video Display is Poor or Blank but Backlighting is On (Both Displays)
^ Video Cassette Player (VCP) Remote Control Inoperative
^ Video Cassette Player (VCP) Controls Inoperative or Erratic
^ Auxiliary Video Audio Reduced or Inoperative
^ Auxiliary Video Display is Poor or Blank (Front Display) or Auxiliary Video Display is Poor or Blank (Rear Display) or Auxiliary Video Display is Poor or Blank (Both Displays)
