This bulletin is being issued to revise Scan Tool Data List and Scan Tool Data Definitions information in the Theft Deterrent sub-section of the following Service Manuals. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information. The following information has been updated within SI2000. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

Scan Tool Data List
On page 8-433, Passlock(TM) Data Voltage Typical Data Value should be updated to read 0.86-5.00 volts.
Scan Tool Data Definitions
On page 8-434, Passlock(TM) Data Voltage definition should be updated to read: "The scan tool displays the voltage code from the Passlock(TM) sensor to the Theft Deterrent Control Module. A valid Passlock(TM) sensor voltage of 5.0 volts will be displayed on the scan tool when the ignition cylinder is turned to the On position. Once the ignition cylinder has been rotated to the crank position, the Passlock(TM) voltage will drop from 5.0 volts to a value between 0.86-4.28 volts, depending on which of the 10 possible Passlock(TM) sensors the vehicle is equipped with. The Theft Deterrent Module then determines if the voltage received is a valid or invalid code. If the Theft Deterrent Module determines the code to be valid, the Theft Deterrent Module sends a signal to the BCM to allow injector activation allowing the engine to run. The scan tool will continue to display the Passlock(TM) voltage code of (0.86-4.28 volts) received by the Theft Deterrent Module until the ignition cylinder returns to the Off position.
