SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble

Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil -
Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers.
3. Remove the wire harness assembly (1) from the wire harness strap (2).
4. Remove and dispose of the smaller wire harness straps.





5. Remove the retaining ring (3) from the steering shaft assembly by using snap ring pliers.
6. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil (2) from the steering shaft assembly.
7. Remove the wave washer (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
