Pickup Box Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the tail/turn signal lamp wiring connectors (1) at the rear lamps bussing block at the rear of the vehicle.
2. Remove the tail lamp assembly. Refer to Tail/Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Except Stepside) Tail/Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Stepside) in Lighting Systems.
3. Open the fuel filler door.




4. Remove the screws and the push-pin holding the fuel filler neck to the side panel. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Door Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
5. Remove the end gate. Refer to Endgate Replacement (Endgate Replacement).




6. Remove the pickup box fasteners (1) from the frame rails.
7. With the an assistant remove the box from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Align the pickup box on the frame rails.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Loosely install the pickup box fasteners (1) to the frame rails.

Tighten the retaining bolts to the frame rail to 85 Nm (63 lb ft).

3. Install the end gate. Refer to Endgate Replacement (Endgate Replacement).




4. Fasten the screws and the push-pin around the fuel filler neck.
5. Close the fuel filler door.
6. Install the tail lamp assembly. Refer to Tail/Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Except Stepside) Tail/Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Stepside) in Lighting Systems.




7. Connect the tail lamp wiring connectors (1) at the rear lamps bussing block, at the rear of the vehicle.
