Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Replacement (Cab/Chassis)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the propeller shaft..
3. Remove the two evaporative emission (EVAP) canister retaining nuts located in the crossmember.




4. Disconnect the three EVAP system pipes from the EVAP canister.
5. Remove the EVAP canister.
6. Remove the EVAP canister brackets from the EVAP canister.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the EVAP canister brackets to the EVAP canister.
2. Position the EVAP canister above the crossmember.
3. Connect the three EVAP system pipes to the EVAP canister.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




4. Install the EVAP canister retaining nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister retaining nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Install the propeller shaft.
6. Lower the vehicle.
