Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) electrical connector (1).





3. Remove the VSS and O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure





1. Coat a NEW O-ring seal with a thin film of Synchromesh transmission fluid GM P/N 12345349 or equivalent.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the VSS and O-ring seal.
^ Tighten the VSS to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the VSS electrical connector (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.
