Overhaul

Tightening Sequence

Cylinder Head Tightening Sequence:

Cylinder Head
Install the NEW M12 cylinder head bolts. Reuse the M8 bolts.
Tighten the M12 cylinder head bolts in three steps:
- 1st step 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
- 2nd step 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
- 3rd step tighten 60 degrees using J 36660-A
- 4th step tighten 60 degrees using J 36660-A
- Tighten the M8 cylinder head bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

Exhaust Manifold





Engine Flywheel Automatic Transmission
Tighten the flywheel bolts in the proper sequence.
- 1st step 79 Nm (59 ft. lbs.).
- 2nd step 60 degrees using J 36660-A.
- 3rd step 60 degrees using J 36660-A.





Engine Flywheel Manual Transmission
- Tighten the flywheel bolts to 78 Nm (58 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the flywheel bolts to 60 degrees using the J 36660-A.
- Tighten the flywheel bolts again to 60 degrees using the J 36660-A.
