Air Temperature Door Replacement (C60)
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Remove the HVAC module assembly.
4. Remove the screws from the HVAC module case cover (10) from the HVAC module.
5. Remove the HVAC module case cover (10).
6. Separate the module halves.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the temperature actuator.
8. Remove the screws from the air temperature actuator.
9. Remove the actuator from the HVAC module.
10. Remove the air temperature door (17) from the blower motor case (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the air temperature door (17) to the blower motor case (1).
2. Install the air temperature actuator to the HVAC module.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the screws to the air temperature actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the air temperature actuator.
5. Install the module halves.
6. Install the HVAC module case cover.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Install the screws to the HVAC module case cover.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
8. Install the HVAC module assembly.
9. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
10. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
11. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
