Turn Signal Cancel Cam/Upper Bearing Inner Race - Assemble

Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race-Assemble-Off Vehicle (Column Shift)

- Tools Required
- J23653-SIR Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor
- J42137 Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor Adapter.





1. Lubricate and install the inner race (1).
2. Install the upper bearing inner race seat (2).
3. Install the upper bearing spring (3).
4. Lubricate the brass surface of the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4) with lithium grease.
5. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4).
6. Install the shaft lock assembly onto the steering shaft assembly.





7. Install the new bearing retainer (1) onto the steering shaft. The bearing retainer must be firmly seated in the groove on the race and upper shaft assembly.
8. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly using J23653-SM and J42137.
9. Remove J23653-SIR and J42137.
10. If the steering column has an inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil-Assemble-Off Vehicle Optional Column Shift) or Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil-Assemble-Off Vehicle (Floor Shift).
11. If the steering column does not have an inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.
