Stabilizer Shaft Replacement- Tools Required
- J24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the nut and the washer from the stabilizer shaft link pin.
4. Remove stabilizer shaft link pin from the frame
5. Remove the stabilizer shaft from the stabilizer link using the J24319-B (1).
6. Pull the stabilizer bar downward to remove the stabilizer link pin.
7. Remove the nuts, the washers and the clamps.
8. Remove the stabilizer shaft from the axle.
9. Remove the insulators from the stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stabilizer shaft to the front axle.
2. Install the insulators onto the stabilizer shaft.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the clamps, the washers, and the nuts.
- Tighten the nuts to 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the stabilizer shaft to the stabilizer links.
5. Install the washer and the nut.
- Tighten the nuts to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the tire and wheel.
7. Lower the vehicle.
