Stabilizer Shaft ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Support the rear axle with suitable safety stands.
2. Remove the following parts from the stabilizer links:
- The link nut (11)
- The link bolt (7)
- The link spacer (9) and insulators (6, 8,10)
3. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator brackets (1) from the axle.
4. Remove the stabilizer from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stabilizer shaft (4) to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the stabilizer insulators brackets (1) to the rear axle.
- Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
3. Assemble the stabilizer link pins to the stabilizer shaft.
- Install the link bolt (7) through the stabilizer shaft (4) insulators (6, 8,10) and spacers.
- Install the link bolt (7) through the frame and install the upper insulator (6).
4. Install the stabilizer link pin nut (11).
- Tighten the stabilizer shaft link pins to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
