Hub and Rotor Assembly Replacement

- Tools Required
- J 2222-C Wheel Bearing Nut Wrench

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the axle shaft.
4. Remove the brake caliper.
5. Disengage the lock tab from the outer wheel bearing adjuster nut.





6. Remove the outer wheel bearing adjuster nut using the J2222-C.
7. Remove the wheel bearing adjuster nut lock.
8. Remove the inner wheel bearing adjuster nut using the J2222-C.





9. Remove the hub and rotor assembly.

Installation Procedure





1. Apply a light coat of high melting point Extreme Pressure bearing lubricant to the contact surfaces of the hub and rotor assembly and on the outside of the axle tube.
2. Install the wheel hub/rotor assembly to the axle tube.
Ensure that the bearings and the oil seal are positioned properly.
3. Install the inner wheel bearing adjuster nut using the J 2222-C.
4. Adjust the wheel bearing preload.
5. Install the brake caliper.
6. Install the axle shaft.
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
8. Lower the vehicle.
