Boost Sensor Replacement (California Emissions)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Loosen the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover.
3. Remove the upper intake manifold cover from the outlet duct.
4. Remove the upper intake manifold cover.




5. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the boost pressure sensor.
6. Remove the bolt (2) retaining the boost pressure sensor bracket.
7. Disconnect the vacuum line from the sensor.
8. Remove the boost pressure sensor and the bracket.
9. Remove the bracket from the sensor.
10. Inspect the boost pressure sensor seal for damage and replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the bracket over the sensor.
2. Install the boost pressure sensor and bracket assembly.
3. Connect vacuum line to boost sensor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notices in Service Precautions.

4. Install the retaining bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the boost pressure sensor.




6. Install the upper intake manifold cover.
7. Install the upper intake manifold cover to the outlet duct.
8. Tighten the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
