Front Fender: Service and Repair



Fender Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the impact bar. Refer to Impact Bar Replacement - Front Bumper (Service and Repair) .

Caution: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

2. Raise and support the hood.
3. Remove the screws retaining the windshield frame filler panel.
4. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .




5. Remove the hood to fender nut and bolt.
6. Remove the front rocker panel cladding. Refer to Cladding Replacement - Left Rocker Panel (Cladding Replacement - Left Rocker Panel) , or to Cladding Replacement - Right Rocker Panel (Cladding Replacement - Right Rocker Panel) in Exterior Trim.
7. Remove the front wheel house extension. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement (Service and Repair) .
8. Remove the fender to the body bolts.




9. Remove the fender from the body.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the fender to the body.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fender to the body bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 13 N.m (115 lb in).

3. Install the front wheel house extension. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the front rocker cladding. Refer to Cladding Replacement - Left Rocker Panel (Cladding Replacement - Left Rocker Panel) , or to Cladding Replacement - Right Rocker Panel (Cladding Replacement - Right Rocker Panel) in Exterior Trim.




5. Install the hood to the fender nut and bolt.

Tighten the nut and bolts to 13 N.m (115 lb in).

6. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the screws retaining the windshield frame filler panel.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

8. Install the impact bar. Refer to Impact Bar Replacement - Front Bumper (Service and Repair) .
9. Close the hood.
