Horn Switch Replacement - On Vehicle

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering wheel inflator module.
3. Remove the horn plunger contact from the steering wheel.
4. Remove the horn switch to steering wheel mounting screws.
5. Remove the horn switch.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the horn switch to the steering wheel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the horn switch to steering wheel mounting screws.
- Tighten the horn switch to steering wheel mounting screws to 5.5 Nm (50 inch lbs.).
3. Install the horn plunger contact to the cam tower in the steering wheel.
4. Install the steering wheel inflator module to the steering wheel.
5. Enable the SIR system.
