Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble - Off VehicleTools Required
^ J23653-SIR Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor
^ J42137 Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor Adapter
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
Important: Let the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil assembly hang freely after removal.
2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil assembly.
3. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly using J23653-SIR and J42137.
4. Remove the bearing retainer (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
5. Discard the bearing retainer.
6. Remove J23653-SIR and J42137 from the steering shaft assembly.
7. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft assembly:
7.1. The shaft lock shield assembly (4).
7.2. The turn signal cancel cam assembly (3).
7.3. The upper bearing spring (2).
7.4. The thrust washer (1).
