Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Loosen the upper air intake duct clamp and remove the duct.




2. Remove the air cleaner mounting bolts.




3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
^ Inspect the seals for damage.
^ Inspect the air cleaner element for damage or excessive dirt accumulation. Replace any part as necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the air cleaner assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the upper intake duct and clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 4 N.m (35 lb in).




3. Install the air cleaner mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
