Front Housing Assemble

^ Tools Required
- J 25070 Heat Gun
- J 36190 Driver Handle
- J 36507 Detent Bushing Remove/installer
- J 36511 Oil Fill Plug Hex Bit
- J 36798 Shift Rail Bushing Installing Tool





1. Using a brass drift install the input shaft bearing in the clutch housing.





2. Using the J 36798 (2) with the bushing side against the bearing and the J 36190 (1), install the shift shaft bearing in the clutch housing.





3. Using the J 36798 with the staking side against the bearing and the J 36190, stake the bearing in place.





4. Using the J 36507 (2) and the J 36190 (1), install the inner shift shaft detent bushing to the second mark on the J 36507





5. Using the J 36507 (2) and the J 36190 (1) install the outer shift shaft detent bushing to the first mark on the J 36507.





6. Install the transmission vent.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Using the J 36511 install the oil fill Plug. Apply pipe sealant GM P/N 12346004 to the drain plug threads.
^ Tighten the fill plug to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).





8. Using the J 36511 install the oil drain Plug. Apply pipe sealant GM P/N 12346004 to the drain plug threads.
^ Tighten the drain plug to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).





9. Using the J 25070 heat the clutch housing front countershaft bearing bore for ten minutes.





10. Using a suitable bearing installing tool, install the front countershaft bearing in the clutch housing.
