Fuel Injector Sleeve Replacement

Removal Procedure

Tools Required
* J45910 Fuel Injector Sleeve Remover/lnstaller

1. Remove the fuel injector(s).





2. Install J45910 into the fuel injector sleeve





3. Tighten the nut while holding J45910.





4. Install J45910-2 over J45910-1, which are both part of kit J45910, and add the washer and nut.





5. Hold J45910 while fuming the nut to remove the fuel injector sleeve.





6. Remove J45910 with the fuel injector sleeve.





7. Remove the O-rings (1).

Installation Procedure





Important: Inspect the seating surface on the fuel injector sleeve and the fuel injector sleeve bore in the cylinder head for debris or damage. If the injector sleeve bore is damaged, the cylinder head may need to be replaced.

1. Clean the fuel injector sleeve lower sealing area (1) and the sleeve bore with GM PIN 12377981, (Canadian PIN 10953463), or equivalent.





2. Lubricate and install NEW O-rings (1) onto the fuel injector sleeve (2).





3. Install the fuel injector sleeve onto J45910.





4. Apply adhesive GM P/N 12345493, (Canadian P/N 10953488), or equivalent to the fuel injector sleeve lower sealing area (1).





5. Install the fuel injector sleeve with J45910 into the cylinder head.





6. Lightly tap on J45910 with a hammer to install and seat the fuel injector sleeve.
7. Remove J45910 from the fuel injector sleeve.
8. Install the fuel injector(s).
