Engine Oil and Oil Filter ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the oil fill cap.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container.
Important: 0mCheck the old oil filter to ensure the filter seal is not left on the engine block.
4. Remove the oil filter using a suitable wrench.
5. Wipe the excess oil from the oil filter housing.
Installation Procedure
1. Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the new oil filter.
Tighten the oil filter to 17 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) plus 150°.
3. Install the oil pan drain plug.
Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fill the crankcase with the proper quantity of engine oil.
6. Remove the oil level indicator.
7. Wipe the indicator with a clean cloth.
8. Install the oil level indicator.
9. Remove the oil level indicator and check the oil level. Add oil if necessary. Check for any oil leaks.
