Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair
AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
2. Disconnect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector (1).
3. Remove the radiator support diagonal brace.
4. Remove the radiator air intake baffle, if applicable.
5. If equipped, disconnect the headlamp washer pump hose.
6. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
- Windshield washer pump (1).
- Headlamp washer (2), if equipped.
- Low fluid level (4).
- Lift gate washer pump (6), if equipped.
7. Disconnect the forward lamp harness clips (3, 5).
8. Disconnect the washer solvent hoses (2).
9. Remove the air cleaner/washer solvent container assembly nuts (1).
10. Remove the air cleaner/washer solvent container assembly.
11. Loosen the clamp securing the MAF/IAT sensor to the air cleaner assembly, if necessary.
12. Remove the MAF/IAT sensor, if necessary.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: If the MAF/IAT sensor is installed backwards, the fuel system goes rich. An arrow (2) cast into the plastic portion of the sensor indicates proper air flow direction. The arrow must point toward the engine.
1. Install the MAF/IAT sensor to the air cleaner assembly, if necessary.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
2. Install the air cleaner/washer solvent container assembly.
3. Install the air cleaner/washer solvent container assembly nuts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
4. Connect the washer solvent hoses (2).
5. Connect the following electrical connectors:
- Windshield washer pump (1).
- Headlamp washer (2), if equipped.
- Low fluid level (4).
- Lift gate washer pump (6), if equipped.
6. Connect the forward lamp harness clips (3, 5).
7. If equipped, connect the headlamp washer pump hose.
8. Install the radiator air intake baffle, if applicable.
9. Install the radiator support diagonal brace.
10. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector (1).
11. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
