102. P2 Planetary and Main Shaft Installation

P2 Planetary and Main Shaft Installation

Tools Required
^ J44587 Main Shaft Holder





1. Install P2 planetary module (2).
2. Rotate the module until it drops into place.

Notice: Installing the thrust bearing incorrectly could destroy the transmission.

3. Align thrust bearing assembly (1) so that the blue stripe on the thrust bearing assembly is facing towards P2 planetary module (2).
4. Install thrust bearing assembly (1) onto P2 planetary module (2).





5. Align J44587 (1) with the Power Takeoff (PTO) access as follows.
^ The tongue of J44587 is facing toward the PTO access.
^ The bolts holes of J44587 are aligned with the two front bolt holes of the PTO access.

6. Install J44587 (1) into the PTO access.
7. Install two bolts (2) into J44587 (1) and tighten the bolts snugly.





8. Install P2 sun gear (3) and sun gear spacer (2) onto main shaft (4).
9. As a unit, install main shaft (4), P2 sun gear (3), and sun gear spacer (2) into P2 planetary carrier (5).
10. Align P3 sun gear (1) so that the flat side of the sun gear is facing the sun gear spacer.
11. Install P3 sun gear (1) onto main shaft (4).
12. Make sure the P3 sun gear and sun gear spacer splines are engaged.





Notice: Installing the thrust bearing incorrectly could destroy the transmission.

13. Align thrust bearing assembly (1) so that the blue stripe on the thrust bearing assembly is facing away from P3 sun gear (2).
14. Install thrust bearing assembly (1) into P3 sun gear (2).
