Condition
Some customers may comment on a rattle or squeak noise coming from the front floor console area.
Cause
The lower bezel of the front floor console cupholder door may have too much lateral movement, causing an intermittent rattle noise.
Correction
Add a new 1 mm (0.04 in) felt washer to the passenger side pivot point of the cupholder door (1). There will be two felt washers after the addition of this washer. This should aid in reducing the rattle noise.
Use the following procedure and the part number below.
1. Remove the IP cluster bezel. Refer to the Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster Replacement procedure in the Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console sub-section of the Service Information (SI).
2. Remove the floor console upper bezel. Detach the harness connector. Refer to the Bezel Replacement - Floor Console Luxury Upper Replacement procedure in the Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console sub-section of the Service Information (SI).
3. Remove the floor console lower bezel. Detach the harness connector.
4. Remove the nut, the metal washer and the plastic washer from the pivot point of the passenger side cupholder door.
5. Install a new felt washer, P/N 15197151, over the existing felt washer at the pivot point area shown. Ensure that the washer is centered so that the door does not bind.
6. Install the plastic washer, the metal washer and the nut on the pivot point of the cupholder door.
7. Attach the harness connector at the console lower bezel and install the bezel.
8. Attach the harness connector at the console upper bezel and install the bezel. Refer to the Bezel Replacement - Floor Console Luxury Upper Replacement procedure in the Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console sub-section of the Service Information (SI).
