Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Assemble

Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket Assemble - Off Vehicle (Standard Column)





1. Install the steering column housing assembly onto the steering column housing jacket assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the 4 TORX head screws to the steering column housing assembly.
- Tighten the screws to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the following parts onto the steering column jacket assembly:
3.1. The steering shaft (1).
3.2. The adapter and bearing assembly (2).
3.3. The steering column seal (3).





4. Install the park lock cable assembly.
5. Install 3 flat head 6-lobed socket tapping screws.
- Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Coil Caution in Service Precautions.

6. Install the automatic transmission shift lock control.
7. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
8. Install the shift lever assembly only. Put the shift lever in the NEUTRAL position.
9. Install the electronic lock module assembly.
10. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
