Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle

- Tools Required
- J 41352 Steering Column Holding Fixture





1. Install the trim cover protector (1) to the lower trim cover (2).
2. Install the upper trim cover (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. Install the TORX head screw (1) to the upper trim cover (2).
- Tighten the screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





Important: The shift lever seal must seat correctly into the trim covers.

4. Install the lower trim cover (1).
5. Install the 2 pan head tapping screws (2) to the lower trim cover (1).
- Tighten the screws to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).





Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Coil Caution in Service Precautions.

6. Remove the steering column and J 41352 from the vise.
7. Install the steering column into the vehicle.
8. Install the steering wheel onto the steering column.
9. Install the tilt lever.
10. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
