Dear General Motors Customer:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

General Motors has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2003 and 2004 model year Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles, equipped with a left side cargo door, and originally sold or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Quebec.

In May, you may have received a letter from us extending the warranty coverage for corrosion of the fuel filler pipe. After further investigation, we have decided to replace the pipe on your vehicle, even if the vehicle does not have the condition. As a result, GM is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for this inconvenience. However, we are concerned about your safety and continued satisfaction with our products.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Campaign ID Number for this recall is 12V388.

Federal regulation requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.
