Steering Column Trim Covers -Disassemble - Off Vehicle

- Tools Required
- J 41352 Steering Column Holding Fixture

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.

Important: Put the steering column in the CENTER position.

2. Remove the tilt lever.
3. Remove the steering wheel from the steering column.
4. Remove the steering column from the vehicle.
5. Secure the steering column to J 41352.
6. Inspect the steering column for accident damage.





7. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (2) from the lower trim cover (1).
8. Remove the lower trim cover (1).





9. Remove the TORX head screw (1) from the upper trim cover (2).
10. Remove the upper trim cover (2).





11. Remove the trim cover protector (1) from the lower trim cover (2).
