Clutch Pilot Bearing Installation (RPO HP2)

^ J8433-1 Puller Bar
^ J45949 Pilot Bearing and Flywheel Locator Installer





1. Inspect a used flexplate locator for wear at the Inside Diameter (ID) area (1). Measure for oversize and out-of-round conditions. A locator with an ID area that exceeds 21.025 mm (0.828 inch) must be replaced.
2. Inspect a used flexplate locator for scoring or grooves (2) in the ID area. A locator with scoring or grooves may not properly align or position the torque converter. Locators with scoring or grooves in the ID area must be replaced.





3. Use the J8433-1 (1) and the J45949 (2) in order to install the locator (3) into the rear of the crankshaft.





4. Inspect the locator for proper installation. A properly installed locator should protrude no more than 8.4 mm (0.33 inch) (a) from the rear of the crankshaft.
