Hybrid Control Module (HCM) Replacement (With RPO Code HP2)

HYBRID CONTROL MODULE (HCM) REPLACEMENT (WITH RPO CODE HP2)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the energy storage box (ESB).
2. Disconnect the hybrid control module (HCM) electrical connector.
2.1. Push the center retainer in while sliding the gray lever forward.
2.2. Slide the gray lever forward completely until it locks.
2.3. Remove the electrical connector.
3. Open the hose clamp on top of the fan shroud.
4. Remove the radiator hose from the clip.




5. Remove the HCM bracket bolts (3, 4).
6. Remove the HCM bracket (5) from the fan shroud.




7. Remove the HCM from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the HCM to the bracket.




2. Install the HCM bracket (5) to the fan shroud.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the HCM bracket bolts (3, 4).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Install the radiator hose to the clip.
5. Close the hose clamp on top of the fan shroud.




6. Connect the HCM electrical connector.
6.1. Install the electrical connector.
6.2. Slide the gray lever rearward completely until it locks.
7. Connect the ESB.
8. Program the HCM. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in Vehicle Control Systems. Programming and Relearning
