Radiator Replacement

Radiator Replacement (8.1L)

Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system.





2. Reposition the inlet hose clamp from the radiator.
3. Remove the inlet hose from the radiator.
4. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
5. Remove the lower fan shroud.





6. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
7. Remove the push pin from the air cleaner adapter (2).
8. Remove the bolts from the air cleaner adapter (2).
9. Remove the air cleaner adapter (2) from the vehicle.





10. Position the radiator vent inlet hose clamp from the radiator.
11. Remove the vent inlet hose from the radiator.
12. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator.
13. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.





14. Remove the radiator bolts.
15. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the radiator bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the engine oil cooler lines to the radiator.
4. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.





5. Install the air cleaner adapter (2) to the vehicle.
6. Install the bolts to the air cleaner adapter (2).
Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
7. Install the push pin to the air cleaner adapter (2).
8. Install the air cleaner assembly.





9. Install the radiator vent inlet hose to the radiator.
10. Reposition the radiator vent inlet hose clamp to the radiator.
11. Install the lower fan shroud.
12. Install the outlet hose to the radiator.
13. Install the inlet hose to the radiator.
14. Reposition the inlet hose clamp to the radiator.
15. Fill the cooling system.
